Choosing the perfect brush can be a challenge, and we recommend having a range in your toolkit so you can select the one thatโ€™s most fitting for the project youโ€™re working on. All brushes work differently -  some are soft and others are firm depending on your preference. The key is finding out what works best for you by trying out different options.

At Art Supplies and Home, you can find a wide range of brushes and shapers that are suitable for both beginners and experienced artists.

Wide Range of Brushes and Shapers for Painting and Sculpting

There are many types of art brushes available on the market today. These include watercolour brushes, brushes for acrylics, oils and oil pastels. Paint brushes come in a variety of styles and materials; each with its own purpose.

Acrylic paint brushes are a must-have for any artist. Their versatility makes them ideal for a variety of surfaces, styles and techniques. Acrylic paint is a medium commonly used by artists, hobbyists and art students. It offers many advantages over oil paints, including its fast-drying time and convenience. If you've decided to use acrylics in your next art project, you may be wondering which brushes to use. There are several types of brushes for acrylic paint, each with their own unique benefits and uses. If youโ€™re looking for an acrylic brush set, we offer a range of acrylic paint brush sets at Art Supplies and Home. These include both round and angled brushes in a variety of sizes and shapes, as well as flat and filbert brushes. You can use these sets for detailing, shading, filling in and blending, as well as creating broad strokes.

A watercolour brush is a tool used to apply watercolour paint. It is usually made of stiff hairs and comes in a variety of shapes and sizes, depending on the desired effect. The most common types of watercolour brushes are round brushes (also called spotters), flat brushes, filberts, mops, fan brushes, riggers and script liner brushes. Each of these brushes has its own use.

Although choosing the right materials can sometimes be daunting, learning about your options is one of the exciting parts of getting into painting. Here are some of the common brushes that most artists are using:

Flat Brushes have short handles and flat heads with straight or slanted bristles. They're excellent for laying down thick, even strokes of colour and covering large areas quickly.

Filbert brushes have a rounded edge and can be used for painting both straight and curved lines. They can be used in most techniques, and their softness makes them great for blending, or creating soft edges.

Round brushes have a long handle with a rounded tip and come in a variety of sizes, ranging from 1/16" to 1". They can produce thick or thin lines depending on the amount of pressure you apply to the brush.

Bright brushes have shorter handles with long, flat bristles forming a deep V shape at the end. They're great for painting fine details such as trees or grasses that need to be narrow at one end and then fanned out when you get to the other side.
